GGG News & Updates (last revised 5.3.11) Hello teachers and IGDIs users! The GGG team is excited to announce that we will continue rolling out new and improved resources through Early Learning Labs, the new source for IGDI-related products and services. Since October 2010, Early Learning Labs has been responsible for the dissemination of the GGG assessment materials--better known as IGDI kits. Now, Early Learning Labs also provides IGDI trainings and will soon be offering access to a new progress monitoring software called myIGDIs. These improvements are being developed through collaboration among the IGDI researcher team and Early Learning Labs at the University of Minnesota. As you have probably already noticed, resources that you may be accustomed to finding at http://ggg.umn.edu are now also available through the new IGDIs website. We are making this change to the newer website to increase user support, improve resources dedicated to IGDIs, and promote continuing research of early childhood education at the University of Minnesota. Please visit http://igdis.umn.edu for more information. Please visit http://igdis.umn.edu for more information. We have organized some frequently asked questions about this transition below. If you have other questions or comments, you can contact the IGDI research team at ggg@umn.edu. If you have questions about Early Learning Labs or the new website and resources, please contact Steve at igdis@umn.edu.
Frequently Asked QuestionsWhere can I go to get the IGDI assessment materials? What happened to the PDF downloads previously available on the Get It page of GGG? The IGDI test measures are no longer available for free download. However, to continue serving programs with extreme funding limitations, Early Learning Labs also offers limited IGDI Scholarships materials. Are the IGDI Kit test items different from what was previously available for download? The stimulus cards and test items are unchanged. Each IGDI Kit bundles all of the critical test elements into one package. The complete kit is all professionally printed and manufactured. See what’s included in each IGDI test kit. These kits are what we now call IGDIs 1.0. As you may know, the IGDI research team is working on new versions, adapted particularly for Response to Intervention models. IGDIs 1.0 are still appropriate for use in many circumstances, and we will have more information about the new versions in late 2011. When will the myIGDIs Progress Monitoring software be ready to use? Early Learning Labs hopes to have myIGDIs completed by August of 2011. In the meantime, please keep using the GGG website. How long will I be able to use the free GGG site? There are currently no plans of making any changes to the services provided through the ggg.umn.edu website. You should be able to keep using Get it, Got it, Go’s resources for the foreseeable future. Does Early Learning Labs offer Professional Development services for IGDIs? Yes. Early Learning Labs is capable of providing your program with either an e-Training or an in-person (day long) seminar. Where can I go to find even more information about IGDIs? The best place to start is the IGDIs website at http://igdis.umn.edu.
